NLC relief goods convoy leaves for Turkiye

First batch of National Logistics Corporation (NLC) vehicles loaded with humanitarian supplies for the earthquake victims of Turkiye crossed into Iran via Taftan Border Terminal on Saturday.

The transportation of relief goods via land route is part of Government’s efforts to provide relief to people of Turkiye reeling from the aftermath of devastating earthquake. As many as 21 trucks will reach Turkiye via Iran in around seven days.The trucks are loaded with winterized tents, blankets and other essential supplies donated by the Government of Pakistan. The relief goods will be handed over to the Turkish authorities.

NLC has established land route to the disaster hit country via Iran and is working closely with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to ensure that its services are aligned to the needs of the affected communities. NLC has prepared a special fleet of vehicles for relief operations to Turkiye. Second batch of trucks will leave for Turkiye soon.

NLC has employed its well-trained drivers and crew with past experience of transporting supplies beyond the borders. These drivers have frequently traveled to Turkiye over past one year carrying commercial cargo under Transport Internationaux Routires (TIR).
